There is no such thing as "Away"
When we throw anything away, it must go somewhere.
Every bit of plastic ever made, still exists. Around the world, one million plastic drinking bottles are purchased every minute, while upto 5 trillion single use plastics are used worldwide every year. In total, half of all plastic produced is designed to be used only once - and then thrown away. We need to slow the plastic at its source, but we also need to improve the way we manage our plastic waste. Because right now, a lot of it ends up in the environment. Only 9% of all plastic waste ever produced has been recycled. About 12% icinerated, while the rest - 79% - has accumulated in land fills, dumps or natural environment.
As responsible citizen, we feel it is our responsibility to spread awareness of the plastic menace as most common type of plastic waste found are drinking bottles, bottle caps, food wrappers, grocery bags, drink lids and straws. Most of there products we use every single day. The world is waking up to the problem and the governments are staring to act. Though we've seen a lot of positive action, but the truth is that we need to do more. And this justifies existence of social businesses like Green Crayon Packaging where we create and curate bio-degradable and sustainable lifestyle products in organic and natural fibres materials like Cotton, Jute and Jutton.
