There is no such thing as "Away"

When we throw anything away, it must go somewhere.

Every bit of plastic ever made, still exists. Around the world, one million plastic drinking bottles are purchased every minute, while upto 5 trillion single use plastics are used worldwide every year. In total, half of all plastic produced is designed to be used only once - and then thrown away. We need to slow the plastic at its source, but we also need to improve the way we manage our plastic waste. Because right now, a lot of it ends up in the environment. Only 9% of all plastic waste ever produced has been recycled. About 12% icinerated, while the rest - 79% - has accumulated in land fills, dumps or natural environment.

As responsible citizen, we feel it is our responsibility to spread awareness of the plastic menace as most common type of plastic waste found are drinking bottles, bottle caps, food wrappers, grocery bags, drink lids and straws. Most of there products we use every single day. The world is waking up to the problem and the governments are staring to act. Though we've seen a lot of positive action, but the truth is that we need to do more. And this justifies existence of social businesses like Green Crayon Packaging where we create and curate bio-degradable and sustainable lifestyle products in organic and natural fibres materials like Cotton, Jute and Jutton.

Why we're called  'Green Crayon' ?

As per a 2009 study, it was found that the green bags was used 52 times (weekly for a year) when compared to a plastic bag which was used for just 12 minutes, so that's 12 minute of carrying your groceries and after thats it's tossed away to remain in the atmosphere harming other beings for milleniums! i.e, your great great great great and even more great grand children will live in a plastic world and we the culprits are laying the foundation for the same.

Here at Green Crayon, we as a community are trying to do our part by colouring the world green, inch by inch using crayons in the light of awareness campaigns, sowing seed campaigns, promoting sustainable bags and with our aim to spread 'environment literacy' we write a blog to discuss and educate ourselves about environmental issues. It would be exciting if you hop along on this wonderful journey of ours and sread infinite love, not just merely talking, but by doing.
